I'm Monique 

From Katikati, New Zealand.

For the last 4 and a bit years I've been living in Melbourne with the lovely Eric, but right now I'm living in Paris.

I've been working on a collection of portraits of people who cross my path here in ol'parreee (those who will pose for me semi-nude anyway) my concept behind it is that I'm trying to incorporate a kind of eclectic mismatch of drawings and designs on their chests that lets the viewer get a glimps of the person - to make the portrait not only about their body, their expression - but to add another dimension to their figure.

I have always drawn. To escape, to understand, to comfort myself , to feel the power that comes from creating.

I make art because it helps me express what I find hard to write/say
